Andrew Henry Barrett

Andrew was born August 22, 1962 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, Massachusetts. He was the eighth child of ten children born to the late George H. Barrett from Orlando Florida and the late Dorothy A. Barrett of Attleboro, Massachusetts. As a young boy he was brought up in North Attleborough where he spent many days at Whiting's Pond fishing, swimming and skimming stones across the lake. He also liked swimming at the WW II Memorial Park swimming pool. He had a sweet tooth and spent many days at the Broadway Market buying penny candy from Rose. He always looked forward to Halloween when he used a pillow case for his Halloween treats and he never came home till the pillow case was full. As a young boy he attended St. Mary's Church and looked forward to eating fish and chips or cheese pizza from Jolly Cholly's on Friday night during Lent. What great times he had playing dodgeball and lawn croquet with his family. Summers camping in the New England mountains or at Cape Cod was something he also looked forward to. Being a boy he spent a lot of time playing shoeless and shirtless. In 1980 he moved to Attleboro with his mother, Dorothy Barrett, where he enjoyed riding his bike all around Attleboro especially Capron Park Zoo and LaSalette Shrine. Andrew later moved to Orlando Florida where he lived with his dad, George Barrett and stepmother Marie Barrett. Andrew was a surveyor who surveyed many properties in Orlando. He was a hard worker who on his days off took care of the landscaping and lawn care for his Dad's property as well as found the time to retile the home for them. Andrew leaves behind 10 brothers and sisters. Linda (Barrett) Brule, Walpole, Massachusetts; Nancy (Barrett) Connor, Indian Land, South Carolina; George H. Barrett, Brockton, Massachusetts, Carol G. Barrett, Orlando, Florida; Joanne B. Barrett, Wailuku, Hawaii; Kris (Barrett) Ventriglia, Cranston, Rhode Island; Thomas S. Barrett, Kansas City, Kansas; Peter H. Barrett, Orlando, Florida; James J. Barrett, Swampscott, Massachusetts; and step sister Elaine Coe, Taunton, Massachusetts. Andrew also leaves behind Uncle Ray Barrett, Plainville, Massachusetts; Uncle Jack and Aunt Barbara Collins, Sandwich, Massachusetts; Aunt Mary Reynolds, Warwick, Rhode Island; Aunt Rose Reynolds, East Falmouth, Massachusetts; Aunt Martie Cunningham, Falmouth, Massachusetts and Uncle Fred Reynolds, Bridgewater, Massachusetts. He also leaves many neices and nephews and cousins. I will miss you dear brother your big brown eyes, your cracked smile and your shyness ways. Too soon you were taken. A Memorial Service will be held for Andrew at: Parkside Fellowship Church, 200 North Wayman Street, Longwood, Florida 32750 Saturday July 26, 2014 at 3:00 pm. Pastor Doug Ward will be officiating.
