Christopher Marc Burns

Christopher Marc Burns, age 25 of Winter Park, Florida passed away March 19, 2016. Christopher leaves behind his Mother and Father, Janet and Ronald Burns and siblings Carly, Corey, CJ and Caroline Burns. He was a Trinity Prep alumni ('08), BSA Eagle Scout, and avid swimmer. He followed dreams of working in hospitality at Boston's Fish House, Benihana, and FSU University Center Club. Chris enjoyed cooking and gardening. He was a great cook! He will be loved and missed by many. Isaiah 40:31 "They that hope in the Lord will renew their strength, they will soar on eagles’ wings; They will run and not grow weary, walk and not grow faint. Thank you so much for all the love and support. In lieu of flowers, Ron and I would appreciate a donation to our Boy Scout Troop 787. As many know, Chris and our other two sons, Corey and CJ are BSA Eagle Scouts. I recently stepped down after 12 years as Finance Chair, so I can tell you the funds at Troop 787 are well spent. Scouting has always been a big part of our lives. Our two daughters were Girl Scouts. For those that know us best, teenagers are our life. Our Troop does so much for young men ages 12-18, changing the world one boy at a time. Chris was Crew Leader for his Philmont Trek and his college essay was about climbing the Philmont Scout Ranch Mount Baldy. He reached the summit and shared the experience in a truly moving essay, gaining access to every college he applied. In our Troop Scout Master's words, "Chris's Cobra Patrol was the most tight knit patrol in my 17 years in the Troop." I have just recently resigned as Finance Chair, but those that volunteer know how hard it is to quit your volunteer job; I am still listed for financial mailings. It is not necessary, as we know Chris was loved, and truly feel the loving support of our community and family, but funds to show support can be mailed to: BSA Troop 787 c/o Janet Burns PO Box 1341 Goldenrod, FL 32733 Scout Law. A Scout is: Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, Reverent. Boy Scout Oath: On my honor, I will do my best. To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; To help other people at all times; To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight. The service will be for private, for family only, but we appreciate all your love. We truly thank you for the kind words and support. We know we are loved, and we will all miss Christopher very much.
