Cirilo Mancilla Bautista

Cirilo Mancilla Bautista, 78, passed away on November 8, 2017 at his home in Orlando, FL. He was with his daughter-Vanessa, his son-Jason, son-in-law-Roger, daughter-in-law-Tabitha, former wife-Maria and his three fur grand dogs - Maggie, Maximus and Brooklyn. Cirilo was born in Manila, Philippines on March 9, 1939. In 1958-1959, he volunteered to serve in the Armed Forces of the Philippines: Philippine College of Commerce; in their prestige’s Reserved Officer Training Corps, graduating as a Cadet Major. In 1958, He graduated a basic course | QMS training. In 1960, he graduated the Advanced ROTC course, and even served as battalion commander. In the Philippines, the completion of Advance ROTC in the Philippine Army is considered a graduate qualification in Military Science, and such graduates who subsequently progress to the Probationary Officer Training Course (POTC) are commissioned as 2nd Lieutenants. With a profound respect for all service members, instead of full enlistment in the Philippine Army, Cirilo went on to pursue higher education in college. In 1963, he graduated from Far Eastern University with an Associate in Arts and in 1964 with a Bachelor of Arts. With a desire to travel and make his mark in the world, he traveled to America in pursuit of citizenship. Cirilo traveled the world in his mid-20’s chronicling his travels by journaling on nearly every photo, signing them all “Love, Cely.” Cely’s passion to serve others led him to Washington D.C. and Georgetown University, a Jesuit Community, where he studied in Seminary School. After seminary school, he served at St. Andrews as a Jesuit Priest for over nine years, but left before taking the final vow; wanting someday to have a family of his own. Still with a desire to serve and learn, St. Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing was a perfect calling as the school administrators serving there were nuns. In 1971, he Graduated St. Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing with an A.A. as an SJ or S.J. (Society of Jesus) after a person's name means he is a Jesuit priest or brother. In 1976, he earned his Bachelor of Profession Studies from Pace University. In 1997, he completed his education at Pace University by earning his Bachelor of Science in Nursing; the very same year he became a U.S. Citizen. Around the early 80’s, Cely started having his friends call him “Sal.” He was married to Maria T. La Greca for fourteen years where they lived in Jersey, New York and later Orlando, FL. He served in the Healthcare Industry for 40 years. He retired from serving at Central Florida Regional Hospital located in Sanford, FL after 22 years as a Cardiac Recovery Nurse at 72 years young. Sal will be remembered by his kindness, patience, strength, generosity, genuine heart, compassion for others, keen fashion sense, love of ballroom dancing, lifelong friends and words of wisdom that will last a lifetime for his children and their spouses. He is survived by his daughter - Vanessa Rose Bautista, Son - Jason Philip Bautista, Son-in-Law - Roger Benton Dunn Jr. and Daughter-in Law - Tabitha Anna Sclafani. The funeral service will be held on: Sunday, November 19, 2017 at: A Community Funeral Home & Sunset Cremations. Located at: 910 W. Michigan Street Orlando, FL 32805. The viewing for friends and family will be held from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. The Chapel Service will begin promptly at 12 noon.
