Errett Christopher Sechler IV "Rett"

Errett Christopher Sechler IV, lovingly known as Rett, passed away on November 22, 2022 at the age of 40 after a courageous battle with cancer. Diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma at the age of 9, Rett battled the effects of cancer for 30 years and met every challenge with determination and optimism. Through many health problems, he persevered with an incredible sense of humor, humility, and friendliness that touched everyone in his life. His spirit is carried on by those who were fortunate enough to know him. Rett completed his bachelor’s degree from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia in 2004. He moved to Orlando 18 years ago and passionately pursued a career at Ferguson Enterprises. From the beginning Rett demonstrated talent and promise, being awarded for his work in Sales; and landing a spot in the Devine District and President's Club. Most recently, he had been promoted to an Area Sales Manager and Project Manager. Rett loved being a part of the team at Ferguson, and his creativity, leadership, and love for people brought him a lot of success. Rett cared deeply about his friends and family, and the many people he touched cared deeply about him. Even when he was feeling ill, he would joke to bring a smile to people’s faces. His determined and loving spirit were never defeated. Growing up in Augusta, Georgia, Rett enjoyed creating games to play with his family and friends in the neighborhood. This creativity and enthusiasm showed throughout Rett's life and work. He enjoyed playing guitar and writing songs. As a die-hard fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves, one of his favorite pastimes was getting together with his friends to watch games. His memory will continue to be a light in the lives of his loved ones. Rett is preceded in death by his father, Errett Christopher Sechler III ("Chris;”), and is survived by his mother, Shirley Sechler; siblings Ash, Casey, and Kit Sechler; and by many other loved ones. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at A Community Funeral Home and Sunset Cremations, 910 West Michigan Street, Orlando, Florida. Other services will be held in Augusta, Georgia and Springfield, Missouri with dates to be determined.
