Gloria Fay DiGuardo

Gloria Fay DiGuardo was born in Monogahela, Pennsylvania to Leonardo and Mary (Zolinas) Nezgadas. She was the youngest of 8 children. After graduating high school Gloria then moved from Monongahela to Washington DC to take a job as a secretary at the FBI which was then led by J. Edgar Hoover. Gloria met Anthony DiGuardo, (deceased) on June 15th, 1946. They were married 6 months later on Christmas Day 1946 in Baltimore Maryland. They resided in Baltimore, Maryland until 1980 when at that time they made their move to Orlando Florida. They enjoyed 73 years of marriage, filled with lots of travel including yearly cross-country trips in a camper and a total of 27 cruises to numerous exotic places including Europe. Gloria was an active member of the Orlando Garden Club. Gloria’s passion was anything to do with flowers. You could find her in her yard from sunup until sundown. She could grow anything from just a small cutting off any plant, hence the name of her own Garden, “Stolen Paradise”. Her favorite of all flowers being the Camellia. Gloria was a loving Mother and Grandmother. Gloria loved having family gatherings and would work hard in the kitchen making sure there was always more than enough food for everyone. The holidays were her favorite. Especially wanting to make a big deal out of Birthdays. Gloria and Anthony took dancing lessons at the Knights of Columbus in Baltimore, Maryland. They became amazing dancers and could dance to anything from a Polka to Disco. Gloria and Anthony had one son and two daughters, Michael Anthony DiGuardo (Glenda), Gloria Goode (David Good – deceased), and Patty Turgai (John). Gloria became the grandmother to 5 Grandchildren, Michelle Humeston, Melissa Goode, Kristy Warren, David DiGuardo and Charles DiGuardo. Gloria was blessed with 9 Great Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandchild. Gloria would attempt and accomplish any project from wallpapering, painting, stripping / refinishing furniture, laying tiles to rearranging entire rooms of furniture. She would help any of her children without hesitation and get the job done. Gloria truly was an amazing woman with many qualities. Anyone who met Gloria felt an immediate attachment to her through her kindness, generosity and love. She was loved by her family and friends. She will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.
