James David Phillips

James David Phillips, 52, of Orlando, passed away January 10, 2015. I want all to know my nephew, James David Phillips, better known to all as David. At work he was know as "Jr.". No matter what name it was, he was known as a very kind hearted, and caring person. David was never married and he had no children. It was only David. Prior to him getting very ill around 2010, he was dedicated to his job, and a very organized man. He cared deeply for his mom and dad. I helped him in all of his business issues which would come up. It seemed as time passed, he became more and more ill. David enjoyed traveling when possible. He retired from Orange County after 30 years service. After that, the traveling, movies, and things he enjoyed doing was no more. We talked about it, but, it never happened. He enjoyed taking his nephew, Aaron and myself, a friend and her granddaughter to the beach . We would swim, then eat out at a nice restaurant then swim more and sleep. He enjoyed talking to people, especially people from other places. He enjoyed cruises. We went on 3 cruises . He loved the Virgin Islands, the Bahamas, Mexico, and just anywhere a ship, plane, or automobile would go. I'm sure everyone knew he was a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan. Never missed them. He stuck by them win or lose. He was a good , all around casual and giving person. He loved his parents, respected them, and would be there to help whoever he could and if he could. Unfortunately his health started to deteriorate and he couldn't do the things he wanted to do. His life changed. He thought of his mom, his family, and he decided to go into an apartment. He would real out but not enough. I spent many hours with him in the last few years. I saw the deterioration, but he was also stubborn and in the end, he seemed to be distant from all. At times, he was ill more and more. Doctors were impossible, no way of getting to them due to our current system. On 4/9/2000 his only sibling passed away. She was 34 Two years later on 3/9/2002 his mother passed . David is survived by his dad, James T. Phillips "Bud", aunt, Patricia Schrider and of course his nephew, Aaron K. Phillips. He loved taking Aaron on little trips to Universal Studios, Walt Disney World, movies. That was his little buddy until he became ill. I know he always asked Aaron about his football games, he would go when possible. He knew Aaron was scheduled to graduate in 2016. He talked to me, his aunt, about wanting to be able to help do something special for him when he graduates. We talked about it, but no set plans. He was a good, honest, caring person. He had many cousins in Michigan which he cared for. He had relatives in Georgia. They would visit him frequently. They would do their things for fun. David seemed to like everyone. He also was not afraid to try new things. He loved his family and he loved his friends. David was a good, caring man who is gone to soon. I, as his aunt believe if he had a message to all today it would be always do the right thing to the best of your ability. One very important thing is to always take care of yourself and your health.
