John Thomas Kenney II

John Thomas Kenney II, age 39 of Winter Garden, Florida passed away far too young on Sunday April 22, 2018. John was born in Howell, Michigan on May 26, 1978 to John and Charlene (Bowen) Kenney. John was a 1996 graduate of Howell High School, where he discovered his passion for music, theatre and sports. His junior year he learned how to play the piano. He had a natural talent and went on to write his senior class song for his graduating class titled “Letting Go,” and set out to make his musical passion his livelihood. Known as Johnny or Johnny K to many, he became a dueling piano player and spent time all over the country perfecting his craft and using his sense of humor and natural stage presence to entertain crowds. He spent a considerable amount of time working at Howl at the Moon in Indianapolis and making magical memories for guests at Jellyrolls, a dueling piano bar at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort in Florida. The pinnacle of his career was when he was able to become his own boss and entertain for weddings and corporate events with his business Orlando Dueling Pianos. Johnny went on to meet his best friend in his wife Meagan, shortly after moving to Florida. They shared a love for college sports, music and Disney. Together, they watched his beloved Michigan Wolverines, which usually involved a lot of yelling at the television, living room tailgates and good luck game day rituals. Meagan and Johnny had a natural chemistry and you could see why they were such a good match for one another. Johnny’s children were the loves of his lives. His 15 year old daughter Hannah was his best pal. They had countless memories together and lots of inside jokes. His 1 year old daughter Charlotte brought recent joy into his life. He made lots of memories playing and singing to her, swinging and having daddy/daughter dance parties to Disney music. People who knew Johnny will miss his jokes, his laughter, his smile, his compassionate heart and genuine care for other people and his unbelievable talent and creative mind. His memories and zest for life will be held in our hearts forever. John is survived by his wife Meagan (Mickewicz), daughters Hannah and Charlotte, father John [Kathie], sisters Alyssa Victor [Jay] and Erin Kenney-Pascarella [Carl], brothers Justin and Jordan, many aunts, uncles and cousins as well as countless friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Charlene. A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 30 at 11am at Centerpointe Church in Howell, Michigan.
