Leroy Couch

Mr. Leroy Couch, age 78, was called home to the Lord on November 20, 2015. He passed peacefully at his home in Orlando, FL from complications due to mesothelioma. Leroy is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, June (Pendleton) Couch; his son, Brad Couch and wife, Annette, of Frisco, TX; his son, Randy Couch and wife, Karolyn, of Winter Park, FL and his four grandchildren: Lauren (Couch) Casa of McKinney, TX; Jared Couch of Midland, TX; Kendal Couch and Davis Couch of Winter Park, FL. Leroy is preceded in death by his parents Charley and Judy (Williams) Couch and siblings Sylvania (Couch) Domonkos, Jospehine (Couch) Quillen, Isabella (Couch) Saylor, Elbert Couch and Pete Couch. Leroy was born on June 14, 1937 in Cumberland, KY, to Charley and Judy (Williams) Couch. He served in the United States Navy from 1955 – 1959. Throughout his life, Leroy also lived in Ohio, Florida, Georgia and Texas before retiring back to Florida in 2008. Leroy was a tremendous family man and a loving father. He married June Pendleton on June 11, 1960 in Hamilton, Ohio and the couple had two sons, Brad and Randy. He was also a wonderful grandfather to his four grandchildren: Lauren, Jared, Kendal and Davis. Leroy came to know the Lord in 1976. For the remainder of his life, he was actively involved in church, serving wherever needed. He was most recently a member of Conway First Baptist Church in Orlando. One of Leroy’s favorite sayings was, “You are the best Christian somebody knows.” How he lived and showed Christ in his life was so very important to him. He enjoyed fishing, tinkering with most anything in his garage and spending time with his family. Leroy and June had an arts and crafts business for several years creating beautiful handmade items. They traveled many places to participate in craft shows. Leroy enjoyed talking to people about how the crafts were made. He made many friends among his fellow crafters and also many of the customers who regularly attended the craft shows. His family and friends will always remember him as a hard working, kind hearted and loving man with a wonderful sense of humor. A celebration of Leroy’s life will take place on December 12, 2015, at the Conway First Baptist Church, 4000 Conway Road, Orlando, FL 32812. Pastor Chuck Auschwitz will officiate. All are welcome to attend. Guests may arrive at 10:30 a.m. with services to begin at 11:00 a.m.
