Mrs. Lois Nelson Rooney

Lois Nelson Rooney is a beloved mother and grandmother. She is survived by her four children, thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great grands with one more soon to arrive. Lois was known for her timeless style and grace. To her, family always came first. Each child and grandchild has many unique and precious memories. She was a prayer warrior who prayed by name, daily, for those she loved and those who needed it most. Think of her when you hear "The Old Rugged Cross", "Amazing Grace", anything by the Rat Pack", “I Like Big Butts", or a bullhorn on Christmas morning. Her life story has been written. It has been recorded on the hearts of all those who she touched with her life. Her legacy is a road that never ends and a song that keeps on playing. She is a testament of Gods faithfulness and represented Him in word and action. Truth was the mantle that rested on her tongue, "if you don't want the truth, don't ask." She would sit for hours watching amateur performances put on by her grandchildren/great grandchildren. Just as she danced at Caitlin's wedding, she loved parties or any occasion in which her family gathered. For many years she dressed up at Halloween in various costumes much to everyone's delight. She defined style, class and grace with her appearance and attitude. She was known for her perfectly matched accessories, purses and sandals. On many occasions she could be found sipping unsweetened iced tea at the table; telling stories, listening, laughing or playing games. A few of her favorite things included parties, novels, Fox News, chocolate, Red Lobster cheddar biscuits, and the Holy Spirit. She was witty, wise and quick to put you in your place when needed. The truth is soft and can only be heard by those who listen closely and just as the truth is not loud, neither was she. Proverbs 31:29-31 says "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all. Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate." Lois was truly a virtuous woman, praying for her nation and each member of her family, by name, daily as her mother before her did. She leaves behind a great legacy in the form of a united, loving family who will cherish her memory for all the years to come.
