Lucian Keith Patray

Lucian Keith Patray, age 69, of Orlando, Florida, passed away July 5, 2022. He was born on November 29, 1952 at Morton F. Plant Hospital in Clearwater FL., to the late Ernie Don and Minnie Lou Patray. He was named after his maternal grandfather Lucian Hazen, but was known by his middle name Keith. Keith grew up in Starke, FL where he attended and graduated from Bradford High School in 1970. While attending high school, he played varsity football as a wide out with jersey number 43. After High School, he went on to attend community college at Santa Fe College. He later become a correction’s officer with the State of Florida, Department of Corrections at North Florida Reception Center in Lake Butler. He was known to other officers there as “Sugar Foot”; a nickname given to him for his kind and understanding nature. Keith later become a proud father to his daughter Lesli Dawn. He moved to the Orlando area in 1992 and continued his career as a Correction’s Sergeant and later retired from the State of Florida, Central Florida Reception Center. It was while living and working there that he met his best friend Ester Jordan. Keith had a strong relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and enjoyed reading his Bible daily. He was an animal lover all his life and had many beloved pets over the years. He was also a lifelong fan of the University of Florida Gators. He was known for his kindness, love and generosity. Keith’s heart was so big that everyone he knew had a special place within it. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and is survived by his daughter Lesli Patray of DeLand, FL; sister Donna (Jeffrey) Jackson, brother Mark (Jean) Patray, both of Starke, Fl; nephews, Gary Don Brewer, Joshua Brewer, Marcus Patray, Jacob Patray, Caleb (Ashlyn) Patray; and best friend Ester Jordan of Orlando. Celebrations of Keith’s life are scheduled for Friday July 15th at 2:00 pm at Trinity Baptist Church located at 3716 State Road 21 Keystone Heights, FL 32656 and Sunday July 17th at 1:00 pm at A Community Funeral Home located at 910 West Michigan Street Orlando, FL 32805.
