Ralph Edwin Hazlett

Ralph Edwin Hazlett, 75, peacefully went to his heavenly home on June 24, 2023, in Orlando, Florida, surrounded by his loved ones. He was a humble servant of God, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and cherished friend. Ralph exemplified the values of humility, gratitude, and honor, leaving a profound impact on the many lives he touched. Born on July 6, 1947, in East Liverpool, Ohio, Ralph was blessed to be the son of the late Rev. Paul Hazlett and the late Vera Buerman Hazlett. His journey of faith and love was intertwined with his adoring wife, Kimberly Hazlett, to whom he was married to for over 50 years. Together, they raised their two sons, Matthew (Kim) Hazlett and Mark (Heather) Hazlett, nurturing them with faith, compassion, and the values Ralph held dear. Ralph is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Mackenzie (Mike) Merenick, Andrew Hazlett, Malachi Hazlett, Kacie Hazlett, Avery Hazlett, Addison Hazlett and Landon Hazlett; sisters, Elaine Addington and Lynette (Jim) Kloes as well as nieces, nephews and a host of friends he loved as family. In addition to his parents, Ralph is preceded in death by his sister, Marlene Hazlett, grandson, Ethan Hazlett and brother-in-law, Roy Addington. Ralph was a true steward of God's blessings. After graduating from North Rose Wolcott High School he served his country with honor and distinction as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, a testament to his unyielding commitment to protect and defend. Following his military service, Ralph embarked on a successful career, working with diligence and integrity at Kodak in Rochester, NY and later serving as a department manager at Constar in Orlando, FL. While Ralph fulfilled his responsibilities, he found joy in the presence of his loved ones and his many passions. Time spent with his wife and family was among his most treasured moments. Ralph had a humble appreciation for life finding happiness in working on cars, spending time fishing and cheering on his favorite sports teams. Ralph's life was one of faith, compassion, and selflessness. He embraced the teachings of Christ, showing love, kindness, and generosity to all he encountered. Ralph always offered a helping hand, eagerly fixing cars, lending an attentive ear, offering prayers, or captivating his audience with stories that began with his favorite phrase, "to make a long story short." A Celebration of Life, commemorating the profound impact Ralph had on our lives, is planned for Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 2p.m. at University Carillon United Methodist Church in Oviedo, FL.
