Rebecca Ann Yockey "Becky"

Rebecca Ann Ankney Yockey Daughter Becky was a loving and attentive daughter who grew more fond of Mom and Dad as the years passed and considered it a joy to spend time with them—whether as a casual drop-in several times a week, or at the beach or camping in the woods. She loved athletics and was on the Boone High School swim and dive team. After attending Valencia College she worked as a dental assistant. Sister Becky was the youngest of the Ankney children, and was the ring leader in trouble-making-or so her siblings declared! She set the standard for daring exploits such as para-sailing and motorcycle riding. She was very thoughtful of her siblings and parents, and never missed sending greetings on the special occasions in their lives. Wife and Mother Becky and her husband Steve Yockey shared many interests. They enjoyed camping, cruising, and motor cycle riding. Steve’s wedding gift to Becky set the tone for their fun-filled life together—a motorcycle! Fortunately, Steve liked animals because Becky had three dogs and a cat, and never met an animal that she did not want to adopt. On their wedding day and every anniversary there after Steve recited this pledge to Becky: I asked the Lord to bless me with an angel in my life, a woman I could treasure as a loving friend and wife, and so you came from heaven as the answer to my prayer, and changed my world forever through the precious love we share. Steve found a copy of his pledge to Becky in her wallet. Being the mother of Mason was the joy of her life. She considered him her crowning achievement and cherished him beyond words. Friend Becky had friends from all avenue of life—Harley-Davidson Club, neighbors, and school friends. She considered friends to be one of life’s greatest gifts. Child of God But most of all, Becky was a child of God. The words of Randy Alcorn in his book, Heaven, express our f feelings: “If you’re a child of God, you do not just “go around once” on Earth. You don’t get just one earthly life. You get another—one far better and without end. You’ll inhabit the New Earth! You’ll live with the God you cherish and the people you love as an undying person on an undying Earth.” A memorial service will be held on Saturday 29, 2018 at Downtown Baptist Church, 120 E. Pine Street Orlando, Florida 32801 at 4pm. Donations in memory of Becky to her son Mason Williams.
