Mr. Richard Parshall

Richard Joseph Parshall, (83) a long time resident of Corsica, PA, and Orlando FL, passed away on May 10, 2013 in Orlando, FL. Richard was a member of College Park Presbyterian Church. Richard was born on June 21, 1929 in Pittsburgh, PA to Paul and Clara Parshall. He was a retired Navy Veteran of 24 years. A loving Father and Husband and he will be greatly missed by many. Richard loved to make others laugh and he loved people. He had a passion for driving whether it be long distance or shuttling tourists and locals to and from the Orlando theme parks. It kept him kickin'. He enjoyed spending time with family and enjoyed activities with them, taking them fishing, horseback riding, and playing board games (Tri Ominos). Rich loved playing practical jokes, tricking you into covering your face with candle soot while telling you he was hypnotizing you for anything you would want to do like lose weight, stop biting your nails, etc...(too funny!!!), he also like scaring you with his many contraptions like the raccoon in the box, scary masks in a dark bedroom, or better yet honking his car horn at you when you were least expecting it. Richard was also very generous, and loved to cook, eat, and let someone else clean up the mess. He loved old cars, the Bullet nose Studebaker, was his favorite. For laughs, he almost got arrested at the airport a few years ago for having bullets in his carryon bag (wasn’t too funny at the time). He loved to shoot his 40 gauge shot gun at ground hogs back home, and also enjoyed his many horses from Morocco to Albion, PA. Richard was a fun man, and an amazing stepfather. Richard is predeceased by his parents, Paul and Clara Parshall, and sister Diane Smith. Richard is survived by his lovely wife of 31 years, Sue K. Parshall, his children, Rick, Mark, Karen, and Nancy Parshall; Todd, Bill, Sterling, Peter Joel, Christopher, Benjamin, and Amy Beth Logan, his brothers Ronnie, Jerry and Jack Parshall; 22 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. A memorial service and celebration of his life will take place on May 19, 2013 at the VFW Hall located at 4444 Edgewater Dr., Orlando FL 32804 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting cards which will be used in creating a memorial scrap book.
