Salvatore Stephen Arcidiacono

Salvatore Stephen Arcidiacono, known affectionately as Steve Archie, passed away on August 4, 2024, in Orlando, Florida, at the age of 74 surrounded by his family. Born on December 11, 1949, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Steve grew up in a vibrant family and eventually settled in Florida, where he cultivated a life marked by hard work, integrity, and dedication. Steve graduated from Winter Park High School in 1968 and furthered his education at Florida Technological University (now known as the University of Central Florida), earning his BS degree in 1972. He began his career with the Orange County Health department and later made the move to OCPS, retiring in 2008 as the Director of Environmental Compliance. He was also the proud owner of S&S Irrigation for 20+ years, which allowed him to build countless lasting business relationships and friendships across central Florida. His career was characterized by hard work and reliability, traits that earned him the respect and trust of his colleagues and friends. Steve's personal life was filled with joy brought on by hobbies such as boating, skiing, and playing softball. He was the King of rhymes and enjoyed playing guitar and songwriting in his younger years, as well as flying small planes. Steve was also known for his unique sense of humor, often lightening the mood with his well-timed, albeit sometimes inappropriate, jokes and hilarious pranks. His greatest joy however, was being a father and grandfather to his three girls and four grandchildren. Steve leaves behind his beloved wife of 53 years Patricia, daughter and son in law Jennifer and Carlos, and daughters Kristan and Katherine. He was a cherished grandfather to Madison, Matthew, Kaelyn, and Kenzley. His sisters, Andrea, Eva, and Christina, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins, will also hold his memory dear. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Pancrazio "Frank" and Mary Arcidiacono. Steve's legacy of steadfastness, humor, and unwavering love and commitment to his family and friends will continue to inspire those who knew him. His life was a testament to the values he held dear, and he will be profoundly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Services will be held at Saint Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Winter Park, 526 N Park Ave, Winter Park, FL 32789 on August 23, 2024 at 1:00pm, followed by a reception in the reception hall.
