Steve Voeller

Born in Apalachicola, Florida, to Richard and Edith Voeller. Steve was the first of four sons: Rich, Jack, and Matt Voeller. He graduated from Plantation High School before trying his hand at being a professional beach goer / honorary Hawaiian in 1987; however, his island life was short-lived as true love drove him back stateside. He returned to Florida less than a year later to settle down with his high school sweetheart, Michelle, before getting married on August 26, 1989. They would go on to have three children of their own: Kristi, Jessica, and Stephen. Steve and Michelle would spend most of their adult lives in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where Steve explored his passion for the beach, the Miami Dolphins, and one project at a time expanding and transforming their house into a home. From remodels to adding on additions, renovating the pool, and customizing the house to become the “Miami Dolphins” house. The only thing Steve loved more than a project was making his kids “help” in the name of building strong character and a good work ethic. Weekends might consist of sailing at the beach or tailgating at a game, capped off by inviting everyone over for Voeller Burgers, with any occasion being an excuse enough to fire up the grill and share some laughs with family, friends, or anyone who happened to be walking by. Steve had a laugh that was contagious and a lighthearted attitude towards life, never taking anything too seriously. Steve was a hard-working man who put providing for his family ahead of all else. When he and Michelle would move to Orlando to “buy a preschool”. Somehow Steve found a way to buy her two. This is truly the best example of Steve’s character, always giving as much as he could to those he loved, especially to his true love, Michelle. Steve was always happy to drop everything to help one of his kids out with a home renovation project, moving furniture, or coming to the rescue after flipping not only his truck but also your own. Steve truly loved being the one you called in your time of need. His love for life was only outmatched by his love for his grandchildren, as he found his true life’s calling once he became Pop Pop to Brayden Wilson, Camdyn Wilson, TJ Deck, and Blayke Wilson. He loved nothing more than making them laugh, or being the reason why his grandchildren could get that extra cookie, or toy they didn’t need. Steve’s larger-than-life personality was a true blessing to be near, and no matter the occasion, you were sure to leave laughing, even if it wasn’t appropriate. A loving husband, A father, A proud grandfather, Stephen Thomas Voeller will be missed by all those who had the honor of having him in their lives.
