Arturo Allers Jr.

September 2, 1934 - April 7, 2022

Arturo Allers, Jr; Papo or Al to his family and closest friends, passed away at the age of 87 in his sleep on Wednesday morning, April 7, 2022 at his home in Kissimmee, Florida. Papo was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on September 2, 1934 where he grew up and graduated from Ponce Senior High School on May 30, 1952 and joined the United States Air Force. During his time in the service, he married the love of his life Ana Maria Allers. They traveled to many countries such as Germany, Paris, and Spain, to name a few. They married on January 4, 1958 to begin their lives together. Once he completed his military service they moved to New York and he began his career with the U.S. Postal Service (USPS). He retired from the USPS branch in New Jersey in the early 1990’s and moved to Florida, where he was a night security guard at a hotel on International Drive for over 10 years. He was the widower of his beloved wife Ana Maria Allers. Him and Ana have been reunited and would have shared 64 years of marriage this past January. During their lives together they raised their three children Arthur (Artie) Allers III (deceased), Nanette (Walter) Starozytnyk of North Carolina, and Robert (Melissa) Allers of Florida, in a home filled much love and support. They enjoyed many fun outings and activities with family and friends over the years. Many of Papo’s hobbies and activities he enjoyed included playing on a softball team, bowling league, salsa music, and dancing. He loved his New York Giants, the New York Yankees (win or lose), and watching old movies/TV shows. He was blessed with seven grandchildren that he cherished and enjoyed watching grow up. His grandchildren are Jennifer Allers of Florida, Heather (Austin) Allers-Sotomayor (Sweet Pea) of Florida, Travis Allers of Florida, Daniel Starozytnyk (Daniel-Son) of California, Cheyenne Allers of Florida, Colleen Allers (Collinskie) of Florida, and Alexis Starozytnyk (Lexus) of North Carolina, who loved and adored their Grandpa Allers unconditionally. Papo also leaves behind three great-grandchildren Colin Mendez, Marea Mendez, and Liliana Allers, all of Florida. Papo grew up with his four siblings Freddy (Angie) Allers (deceased), Edwin (Marcia) Allers (Tito) of Florida, Edgar (Milagros) Allers (Eggie) of New Jersey, and Ivelisse (Evie) Allers of New York. He loved to share stories of, as he called it “back then, where I grew up” and all the mischief they would get in to. He enjoyed telling his family of how it used to be when they were younger growing up “in his country”. His family would like you to join them on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 from 5:00 – 8:00pm for a Memorial and celebration of his life. Please bring your stories and memories to talk about and share with us. Between 6:00-6:30pm the U.S. Air Force will present full military honors. There will be light refreshments and finger foods to enjoy throughout the service. Please come celebrate and remember this wonderful man and the full life he had.
