Eric P Andre

September 30, 1958 - April 10, 2022

Eric Andre, 63, left this world on April 10, 2022, in Orlando, Florida, at the call of God, to pass to eternal rest, peacefully and surrounded by his Wife and Son. He was born on September 30, 1958, in Arcachon, a town north of Bordeaux, France. Eric spent his childhood years living in La Rochelle, France. During his high school years, Eric worked at the family hotel's restaurant, developing his love for restaurant life. When he graduated from high school, he enlisted in the French military for 1 year of service where he was stationed in Bretagne (Brittany). An avid lover of Gastronomy, Eric went on to work for many international firms in the industry. His work took him to Michelin starred restaurants in France, England, Switzerland, and North America. In 1986, while he was living in England, he was hired by a French/American company in Houston which brought him to the states. Afterwards, he moved to New York to work as an Executive chef at the Rockefeller Center Restaurants, The Grand Tier at The Metropolitan Opera House of NY, The United Nations, in charge of the food at The U.S. Open at Flushing Meadows, NY, The Mary Kay Corporate Office Dallas, TX, A teacher at the Cordon Bleu Culinary School in Orlando Florida, and finally, a teacher at the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, where he worked weeks before passing. His change of path in the cooking industry, from Executive Chef to Teacher, was due to a tragic car accident in NY in 1991 that left him semi-paraplegic. Nevertheless, he never considered himself handicaped. After multiple surgeries, and two years of extensive physical therapy he returned to work, full time. Eric had an uncanny ability to reach his students in a deep and positive way. He inspired everyone he worked with with his positive can-do attitude, generous heart, and patience. In 1987, while living in New York, Eric met his wife Patsy. They fell in love at first sight, got married, and had their son Denis. They stayed married as they once promised "...till death do us part". He is Survived by his Wife Patricia (Patsy), Son Denis, Mother Carmen, two brothers Patrice and Christophe, brother and sister in law Shanti and Norka, nephew and nieces, friends and students that will miss him dearly. Eric was preceded in death by his father Denis, grand-mother in law Esther, parents in law Santiago and Esperancita. Following the mass, Eric's Ashes will be brought to Queen of Angels Cemetery, at 1901 Queen of Angels Dr, Winter Park, FL 32792. Afterwards, the family will greet friends for a celebration of Eric's life. Please join us for a Celebration of his Life following the mass, Wednesday, May the 18th at 2:30pm Good Shepherd Catholic Church 5900 Oleander Dr Orlando, FL 32807 Memorial Donations in memory of Eric may be made to "Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida".
