Fay Radosevich

October 3, 1926 - September 5, 2020

Fay Radosevich, October 3, 1926 to September 5, 2020 Born in Farmington, NM, Fay was one of William and Earl Bell’s ten children. Once she graduated from high school, she moved to Gallup NM where she met he husband, Joe Radosevich, and raised one child, Jim. Her working career included waitressing for 8 years, co-owning and managing a motel on Route 66 for 15 years, and serving as an elected county official (clerk, assessor, and treasurer) for a total of 12 years. As a motel manager, she worked 16-hour days, getting up at all hours of the night to rent to late-comers after laboring all day while Joe ran a gas station across town. She was a generous and considerate servant of others, always a willing volunteer anxious to help in any way she could. She served the Catholic school her son attended by managing its annual bazaar’s turkey dinner for over 20 years. For many years, she helped the Little Sisters of the Poor prepare meals for residents of a nursing home and actually met Mother Teresa of Calcutta when she visited there. She helped cook and serve lunch at senior centers for at least 25 years and for 10 years worked all day managing one center’s kiln and ceramic program. She often picked up people who needed rides to senior centers. Frequently she served Sunday dinners to large gathering in her home. After Joe’s death and a decline in her health, at age 79 she moved to Florida to be near her son and great-grandchildren. With great generosity, she divided the proceeds from the sale of her NM home among her 5 surviving siblings. Even while living in assisted living facilities she found purpose by serving others less able than herself until she could no longer carry on. During her final 3 years she lived in a nursing home, and even there she managed to maintain her positive attitude and cheerful spirit. Memorial Mass at St. John Vianney Catholic Church will be scheduled at a later date. Please revisit her obituary for updates.
