Marisa Henson
February 19, 1942 - February 17, 2022
Maria Luisa Henson passed away peacefully on February 17, 2022 in Orlando, Florida after a brief illness. She was born on February 19, 1942 in Madrid, Spain. She was the daughter of Francisco Villalba and Juana Antonia Chicharro, also both from Madrid. She graduated high school and married Russell Henson, an American service man in 1960, and together had three children. She lived intermittently between the United States and Spain, before settling with her family in Orlando in 1979. She was an avid shopper and favorites stores were second hand and other thrift shops where she was always seeking new treasures. She loved to cook Spanish food and her croquettes and tortilla were exceptionally good. She had immense pride in her Spanish heritage and culture and traveled every year to Madrid, up until her death. She was resilient, strong minded and outgoing. She lived life fully and without regrets. She loved her friends, who spanned from Miami, Orlando and Madrid, and most days you could find her visiting or talking with them on the phone. Her singing, dancing, cooking and constant energy will be missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her sister Mercedes Rius Villalba. She is survived by her three children Lillian Goff, Francisco Henson, and Sabrina Henson, and their spouses, Dan Goff, Aizita Magaña, and Michael Matheny. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Sabrina Henson-Matheny, Michael Henson-Matheny, Sofia Henson and Alexander Henson, her extended family in Madrid, and many devoted friends. A memorial is being held February 25, 2022 at 6 pm followed by a reception. She lived life to its fullest and never looked back. She loved her yearly trips to Spain and all the wonderful friendships she made through the years. She will be missed by many but never forgotten.
