It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Teresa Ponce on January 2, 2022, in Orlando, Florida. Her final days were spent surrounded by loving family and friends whose lives she touched in some special way. Maria was born on October 6, 1936, in Santurce, Puerto Rico. She is preceded in death by her only daughter, Olga Iris Concepcion, better known as Dollie. She is survived by her only grandson, Michael Romero, who resides in California, and her sister/niece, Iris M. Ruisanchez, who resides in South Florida. Maria wanted to be remembered for being a caring, sincere, loving person who always wanted to help others, no matter the circumstances; one who fought for her rights and justice; a very organized and responsible individual who supported many causes and was quite the animal lover. Maria's favorite words were "Love God, love yourself, and love people. With this thinking, you don't need any more to be happy!" She will be deeply missed by many. An outdoor graveside ceremony will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022, at 10am at Greenwood Cemetery located at 1603 Greenwood St, Orlando, FL 32801.
