Pomposo "Pompi" Gonzalez

September 19, 1936 - November 24, 2021

Born Pomposo Gonzalez on September 19, 1936 in Pinar del Rio Cuba. Better known to all as Pompi. Married his sweetheart Maria at age 23 on December 19, 1959 in Cuba. Together they made the voyage to the united States to start a new life and they succeeded. Once here in Florida they both began working at Walt Disney world in 1972. He started as housekeeping in the paint shops there at Disney. This is where he acquired the name Pompi. He quickly moved up the ladder and became an amazing painter. In July of 1977 they became parents to a daughter Maribel.There at Disney he made so many great acquaintances and learned so much. While working at Disney he had a dream to start his own business of paint and auto body. Pompi and Maria purchased some land and began building their dream. In 1981 the dream came true and he opened the doors to Pompi's Paint and body. For many years Pompi ran a successful business and then happily retired. (never fully) he was always staying busy. Wether it was at shop cutting the grass or at home planting flowers and plants with Maria. He was an amazing husband, father and friend. Pompi will be missed immensely. He passed away on November 24, 2021 at the age of 85. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Maria. His daughter Maribel Marvin and son in law Chad. His brother Nemesio and brother in law Adrian Israel.
