Alice Fay Galloway

Alice “Fay” Galloway, 82, passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord on February 28 , 2026 following a prolonged illness. Fay was born December 1, 1943 in Copperhill, Tennessee to the late Earl William Galloway and Alice Rose Galloway. She later moved with her family to Orlando during her teen years, settling in the Delaney Park area. She and her older sister, Ruth were very close and enjoyed many memorable outings together during these years, along with Fay’s best friend Susan. Fay graduated from Boone High School, class of 1961. Shortly thereafter, Fay started working at the Sentinel Star newspaper. She enjoyed a long, successful career there and retired from the Orlando Sentinel newspaper as a supervisor in the late 1990’s. Fay was a devoted Christian and was very involved with her church, New Life Christian Fellowship in Titusville, FL. She also participated in their launch of Christian radio station WPIO while a member there. After returning to Orlando, Fay later joined Sanctuary Church and also served in the church office. Fay was a very strong, independent woman who enjoyed watching the news and gardening, caring for her own lawn through her 70’s. She loved cats, and kept one or two as pets most of her life. She was often very generous with her family, stepping up in time of need to provide help. Fay battled chronic illness for many years, with tremendous perseverance and courage. She was surrounded by her family, is deeply loved and will remain imprinted on our hearts. We remember our Lord’s promise, (John 16:22) Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you. Fay is survived by her beloved sister Mary Ruth Galloway, her nephew Douglas Eric “Rick” Magee, niece Karen Marang (Keith Marang), great nieces Sarah Hall and Alexis Rawson, and her best friend from childhood, Susan Hubbard. She was preceded in death by her parents Earl William Galloway and Alice Rose Galloway, and nephew David William Magee. An intimate service will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 8 at A Community Funeral Home and Sunset Cremations, 910 West Michigan St. Orlando. Interment will immediately follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road in Gotha.
