Brittany Kaylyn Clark

It is with very heavy hearts that we share the passing of our daughter, Brittany Kaylyn Clark, who passed away during one of her many adventures on June 28, 2026, in Florida. Brittany was born on a beautiful, warm day, March 24, 1995, in San Diego, California, to her parents, Robert and Lynn Clark. Brittany was such a wonderful baby. She loved to dance and be rocked in our arms; turning up the music would always stop her crying. This became her comfort at an early age. Brittany was riding her bicycle at two years old and, shortly after, she raced BMX bikes. She truly loved the outdoors, music, art, and the water, and she always wanted to do things together as a family. She never minded getting dirty and was constantly bringing home treasures from her outdoor adventures in her pockets. She wanted to keep all things safe—bugs, rocks, dirt, and animals alike. She often collected tiny things, finding little treasures on all of her outings. Later in life, she learned how to ride motorcycles, loving every single minute of it. Once, during a trip to visit family, we were stuck in terrible, gridlocked traffic on the highway. She looked at us and said, "It’s okay, Daddy and Mommy, it’s just traffic! Let’s just pull over and have a picnic." She completely taught us how to have even more patience for all things! Britt treasured her friends and family from a very young age. As a military family, we moved around a lot from state to state, but she proved it was easy to make new friends and adapt to any situation. Even at such a young age, she was remarkably positive and outgoing. She had a kind heart and a high spirit, always willing to go out of her way to help and take care of someone or something. Her teachers would often express what a joy she was to have in their classrooms. Brittany moved to Florida in 2008 with her mother, father, and siblings. She fell in love with the state and everything it had to offer—the beaches, local lakes, rivers, ponds, and trails. She always wanted to be near the water because it was her source of peace and quiet. While living there, she attended Florida schools. When Lake Nona High School was built, she was part of the very first freshman class and quickly joined the wrestling team, which was something she felt she needed and wanted to do. Living in Florida also allowed her to make some wonderful friends. Her best friends were like sisters to her; they were either always over at her house, or she was over at theirs. Eventually, it was time to leave Florida, but she promised herself and her family that she would move back after she graduated. She missed Florida dearly every single day. She got her first job as early as she could and continued working several jobs while going to school. Brittany always strived to be the best she could be. She even joined the swim team because she loved to swim. She graduated with all A’s and B’s from John F. Kennedy High School in Sacramento, California. Although she received a few small scholarships, she decided to wait on college so she could continue working until she figured out what she wanted to do with her life. After her best friend in California tragically died in a car accident, her heart ached so deeply that she knew it was time to move on. She got a puppy and named him Hokalani—Hokie for short—after her best friend. He became her baby who got her through everything, as well as her ride-or-die companion. Brittany was a wonderful fur mommy, always celebrating his birthday and sharing many adventures with him. One day she came to us and said she was moving back to Florida. She felt like she belonged there and needed to be with her two best friends and her family. So she did! She loaded her truck with her belongings and Hokie, and off they went to begin new memories and new adventures. Florida had always been her place of peace and quiet—her reset, no matter what. We tried to talk her out of moving, but it was something in her heart she felt she needed to do. She struggled just as we all do in life, but she always found a way to make things work! Brittany loved a new adventure and enjoyed fishing, camping, motorcycle riding, hiking, biking, and art. After working several jobs that she loved and learned from throughout the years, she ultimately found her calling. She worked in the construction field as a heavy equipment operator and quickly worked her way up to foreman. She was ready to settle down, start her own family, and begin new adventures. Brittany was preceded in death by her grandparents, Clark and Smith. Brittany is survived by her father Robert, mother Lynn, sister T.T., brother Nate, her Nana, aunts Gena and Lisa, and uncle Eric. Brittany will be remembered for her outgoing personality and her strong passion for living life outdoors. She had the biggest heart for all her family and friends, shined a bright light on any situation, and deeply loved sunrises and sunsets. She was stronger than every doubt that ever tried to silence her, and brighter than any fear that tried to hold her back. Her light will shine on forever to lead us where we need to go from here. Rest easy, baby girl. We love you so, so, so much—bunches and bunches, forever and always, the mostest! Let your new adventures begin!
