Juliana Ruth Payment Wilson, 84, of Orlando, Florida, slipped from this world on April 15, 2026, her heart finally resting after a lifetime spent giving so much of it away. Born in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to Charles and Ruth Payment, Julie spent her early years in the north before growing up under the warm Florida sun. Her path through life was anything but ordinary. She worked as a bartender, a hairdresser, and in several other roles before returning to school later in life to pursue the calling that had always lived within her. She became a nurse, caring for others in nursing homes, hospitals, and ultimately at the VA Hospital, where she retired. Caring for people wasn’t just her profession; it was the thread that ran through everything she did. Julie lived with a storyteller’s spark and a truth‑teller’s courage. She spoke plainly, laughed loudly, and loved fiercely. Her presence filled any room she entered, not only with her voice, but with her humor, her candor, and her unmistakable warmth. She never met a stranger; she simply met people she hadn’t befriended yet. Her stories stitched together the fabric of countless gatherings, turning simple moments into cherished memories. Her generosity was the kind of thing people talked about for years. Julie gave without hesitation, comfort, guidance, or even the shirt off her back to anyone who needed it. She believed in lifting those who were struggling, in seeing the good in people before they could see it in themselves. Her compassion was bold, practical, and unwavering. She is survived by her daughter, Colette Wilson & daughter-in-law, Catherine Reynolds; her grandson, Wesley Wilson; her brother, Michael Payment & sister-in-law, Adair Payment; and her devoted friend and caregiver, Jackson Stallings, who stood by her with loyalty and love. She is preceded in death by her son, Michael Wilson, who passed in 2008, and whom she now joins in peace. There will be no formal service, but her friends & family will celebrate her life every time they gather and share her stories. Her family leaves this final tribute: My mother was rich with love, compassion, personality, and life.
