Michael Gene Wade, age 72, of Palm Coast, Florida It is with deep sorrow and love that we mourn the passing of Michael Wade, who left us on February 7, 2025. Michael was a true Floridian as he was born in Miami, Florida on January 26, 1954. We would not recognize the city these days from the Miami he grew up in. With only a high school education, he built a successful life. He worked as a meat cutter for Publix Supermarkets for over 25 years and then continue to build his own landscaping business in Palm Coast. His devotions to his family were the cornerstone of his life, as he was a caring, and protective father to his two children, Heather Lynn Wade and Richard Michael Wade. His influence in the lives of his adult children is demonstrated in their integrity, honesty and doing the right thing even when it is difficulty. They will continue his legacy of love and respect as they continue their life’s journey. Michael was a devoted spouse to his loving wife of over 40 years, Lynn Wade, in a journey filled with love, laughter, sometimes hardship and unwavering support. They shared quiet moments at home to adventures in camping across the United States. He was a supportive older brother to his sister, Diane Toffler. He was always there for Diane, offering guidance, encouragement and a listening ear. She cherished the special connection they shared. His ability to grasp technology was an enigma to him, but that was only minor to the talents he possessed that far exceeded his weakness in that area. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t repair, build or create in his home. His knowledge and understanding of economics far exceed that of the average person. With only a high school education, his understanding of the financial world could qualify him enough to be a teacher of the subject. His talents did not stop there, as he was an excellent butcher. His abilities were at the gourmet level of meat cutting, preparations, and presenting. In his later years, he started making a variety of sausages and beef jerky at home. His skills and dedication in everything he did were truly inspiring. But his talents did not stop there, as he recently developed an appreciation for the sport of golf. Never playing the game before, he exceeded everyone’s expectations. It was a joy to see his self-confidence increase as he passionately practiced, researched techniques and enjoy the camaraderie of playing with friends who had played the game for far more years. The light this man brought into the lives of his family and friends will be dearly missed as we struggle to continue our life’s path without him. We will find solace in our beautiful memories and the lasting impact he had on all of us.
