Octavio Boy Sr,

Octavio Boy Alfaro Sr. was born in Pinar Del Rio, Cuba on January 19, 1940 to Antonia and Felix Boy. Otto, as he was known to his friends and family, was one of six siblings. Octavio cherished his childhood in Pinar del Rio; often spending time riding horses, swimming in the river, playing basketball and baseball and fighting with his sisters. In 1959, Octavio, his parents and siblings moved from Pinar del Rio to Havana, Cuba for a better life. During the turmoil of the Cuban Revolution, Antonia and Felix made the difficulty decision to allow their oldest son to emigrate to the United States of America for a better life and freedom. One by one, the Boy family would all be reunited in the United States and begin their new journey. After coming to America, Octavio decided to join and serve in the United States Army. After the military, Octavio and his family began their life in Miami, Florida, where his eldest son, Octavio Jr. was born. But always in search of a better life for him and his family, Octavio relocated to West New York, New Jersey for several years and his daughter, Gilian was born. However, Octavio and his family could not stay away from the Florida sunshine and as fate would have it, Octavio and his family would move back to Florida and settle in Orlando. Here, he worked for many years for Mickey Mouse. Octavio, always in search of a better life and trying to show his children the importance of hard work, decided to set out and start his own irrigation business which he worked until his retirement. In his later years, Octavio was blessed with his youngest son, Felix. Octavio will be remembered as a loving Christian who accepted Christ as his Savior. He valued family, faith, humility, hard work and good fried rice. Octavio will be missed dearly, but his family and friends know that he is no longer suffering, he is resting in peace and rejoicing with the Lord. Octavio is survived by his first wife, Ana Maria Galindo, his children, Octavio Boy Jr; Gilian Mantecon, and Felix Boy; his daughter in law, Lisa Boy and son in law, Gabriel Mantecon. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brittanie Lopez, Sergio Boy and Olivia Mantecon. His great grandchildren; Emily and Adrian Lopez and Sergio A. Boy. Octavio’s surviving siblings are: Maria Luisa Martinez, Efigenia Boy, Clara Hernandez, Gustavo Boy and Mercy Rivero.
