Patricia Jane Dorsett

Patricia Jane Dorsett passed away on February 4, 2026, at the age of 90. After years of fighting Alzheimer’s disease, Pat died peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family and wonderful hospice nurses in Orlando, Florida. Pat was born in Springfield, Illinois on October 10, 1935, to Roy and Helen Craig. She was their only child, raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, and graduated from George Washington High School, where she met and later married the love of her life, Ronald Lee William Dorsett. Pat worked for the Indianapolis Library sharing her love of books with children and later became a Marine Corps wife. Pat and Ron relocated to Columbus, Ohio and raised their three children. They retired to Kissimmee, Florida where she enjoyed time spent with friends, traveling, cheering on her favorite athletes, and loved horses and the outdoors. More than anything, Pat loved her family and was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her children, Michael (and wife, Amie Martin), Michelle (and husband, Scott Stahley), and Shayna Hansen; grandchildren, Brett and Erika (Davidek)Dorsett, Ryan Dorsett, Desiree’ Stahley, Austin and Meara (Keegan) Stahley, and Avery Hansen; great-grandchildren, Brendon and Makenna Dorsett, Parker and Cooper Dorsett, Hunter and Harper Dan-Stahley, Declan, Cameron and Maeve Stahley. After her husband’s passing, Pat continued to search for him almost daily, as she struggled with the heartbreaking effects of her Alzheimer’s disease. Ironically, she passed just after the 72nd anniversary of their engagement and Ron’s 90th birthday, seemingly accepting Ron’s invitation to join him once again, this time - together for eternity. Pat’s final wishes were to be cremated and sprinkled with Ron near family in Illinois, Ohio and Florida. In lieu of flowers, friends and family are invited to make donations to MMORE, supporting research and care for patients suffering from multiple myeloma at the OSU James Center, in honor of one of her dearest family members, or Cornerstone Hospice House of Orlando in appreciation for their loving care.
