Ulysses Harris

Ulysses Harris was born on August 25th 1938 in Chester, Pennsylvania. Ulysses went home to be with the Lord while surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, November 26th. He is survived by his beloved Wife of 57 years Carol Harris; Children: Eric Harris (wife) Yvonne Harris, Deborah Brown (husband) Troy Brown and Carol Harris; Grand children: Deidre Harris, Mia Harris and Kerra Harris; Great grandchildren Amaiya Skye Blaise, Isaiah Joshua Blaise. Ulysses was a proud member of St. Mary's Missionary Baptist church for 10 years. After 6 years he was called to be an ambassador of service as a Deacon. He is a shinning example of God's word in action. His love of God and family shines through in all that he does. Ulysses gave unselfishly of his space, time and talent. He was a faithful servant and a role model man of God and of great integrity. Ulysses proudly served his country proudly in the United States Navy as a photographer where he completed 20 years of service. Following his time in the military, he was employed by the Navy Exchange where he worked as a maintenance engineer and jack of all trades. There was nothing he couldn't fix, repair or build. After 15 years of working he decided to hang up his suspenders and enjoy the good life of retirement. Ulysses spent the remainder of time doing what he loved the most and that is flourishing his year-round garden, listening to the bible and taking road trips with his wife. Friends and Family are invited to share a memory and sign his guest book. A memorial service with Military Honors will take place at Florida National Cemetery in Sumter County on Tuesday, December 5th at 1:00pm. A RIGHTEOUS MAN He came into the world the blessing that he was, Hand-picked by God to spread love. With open arms he welcomed into the life-long love of his soulmate, To the glory of God di he walk upright and with him she journeyed along his Christian walk. He lived in the word as much as he loved the word, Rearing his family to be as faithful to his Heavenly Father as he.
